Escambia County man sentenced to life for 2012 shooting
ESCAMBIA COUNTY -- An Escambia County man will spend the rest of his life in prison for shooting two men.
Vernon Polk was convicted of attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm back in July.
Today he was sentenced to life in state prison.
In June of 2012 Polk walked up to a car and shot Alonzo Lindsey twice in the chest and Antonette Hunter in the arm.
Lindsey was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital where they were able to save his life.
Both victims were able to positively ID Polk from photo line ups.
