One way of protesting the shutdown in Northwest Florida
NORTHWEST FLORIDA -- More people in Northwest Florida are taking part in an extreme statement on the government shutdown.
Veteran Ernie Webb is now flying the American flag at his house in Northeast Pensacola, upside down.
Webb is also passing out flyers to his neighbors.
So far, two of his neighbors have agreed to join the protest.
An upside down flag is considered a distress signal in the military.
Webb says he wants to send our politicians a message.
I don't believe we're ever going to be a totally united nation and all that. We're always going to have these differences. Actually it's the differences that make us great. It's the ability to come together and resolve those differences and come up with a solution. Our politicians can't do that anymore.
Last week, we told you about a man in Defuniak Springs, Ed Armbruster, who also decided to fly his American flag upside down.
