Gulf Shores shrimp fest starts today

GULF SHORES    --  Seafood lovers are taking over Gulf Shores this weekend for the annual National Shrimp Festival!

It kicked off about an hour ago.
The Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores not only has shrimp prepared more than a dozen ways, it also has several types of live music.

There's a band for every taste in music. Everything from rock to country. This year the crowds can expect performances from Everclear, Black Jack Billie, The Tip Tops and any more.

The festival also has a special area designed just for children called the children's activity village. Kids can play games and work on some arts and crafts.

More than 240 vendors will also be there. They will have pieces of art and other unique gifts to sell.

New this year is Outdoor World. It features exhibits on fishing, boating and hunting.
