MARY ESTHER -- The former city clerk in Mary Esther is facing charges for grand theft.
Tamara King is accused of stealing over 13,000 dollars from a non-profit organization at the Mary Esther library.
Okaloosa County deputies say King forged 27-checks and several unauthorized counter checks then tried to cover up her act by falsifying financial reports.
King resigned as city clerk on August 16th.
She was employed by the city of Mary Esther for 9-years.
Deputies say King's husband has paid back more than 12,000 dollars to the Mary Esther Library Group as reimbursement.
