Mullet fishermen call judge's 'net' ruling victory

Mullet fisherman are calling a judge's ruling on fishing nets a victory.
Florida voters approved a constitutional "Net Ban" in 1994.
When Florida Fish and Wildlife wrote the rules for the amendment they banned nets with a "stretched mesh size" of more than two inches.
Yesterday, a circuit judge in Leon County ruled that there is a conflict between the 500 square foot net that  voters approved and the mesh size limit adopted by regulators.
Fishermen have long said that the smaller mesh kills more fish than it saves.

Ronald Crum/Bait Store Owner: "That's what we use daily, catch 98 fish that you can't sell, every two you take to market."

Fish and Wildlife says it will continue to enforce mesh size while it appeals the decision.
