White House confident another shutdown will be avoided

WASHINGTON   --  For now, America is up and running again after the 16-day partial federal government shutdown.

Furloughed government workers are back on the job and tourist attractions are getting back in business.

But uncertainty remains amid the excitement of sightseers and employees.
This week's deal that re-opened the federal government only extends funding through January 15th.

And the nation's debt limit will be reached on February 7th.
If partisan dysfunction continues, could another shutdown be just months away?

Texas Senator Ted Cruz was front and center in the fight against Obamacare that triggered the shutdown.

And he says is ready for another round.
Karl: So you would do it again?
Cruz:  I would do anything, and I will continue to do anything I can, to stop the trainwreck that is Obamacare.

However, the White House remains confident another government shutdown will be avoided because of the negative impacts on people and the economy.
