Two Local Rappers Murdered

The Escambia County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly double shooting in Ensley.  Two men were killed Friday night on the 200 block of Washburn Street.

A somber feeling for people living on Washburn Street lingered Saturday.  Loved ones of the two men shot say they want answers.

Friends and family say Greg Bryant and Tony Brown were the men gunned down.

"They were over there, on the side of the house, where they were actually shot, and it escalated from that point on" said Bryan Wright, family of victim.

Bryan Wright is cousins with Tony and good friends with Greg.  He says the two were local rappers who were on their way to perform at the Ensley Lounge, a few blocks away from where the shooting happened.  It is unclear what led to the shooting or who pulled the trigger at this time.  Bryan describes the moments after the shooting.

"I guess some type of way, his feet hit the gas pedal, and he came all the way across the street, it bounced the driver outside of the car right here face down where you can see the puddle of blood" said Bryan Wright.

Blood stained tire tracks and a destroyed fence are what's left.  Bryan says both Tony and Greg leave behind families with kids of their own.

"They need to start figuring out who's doing all these murders around here, and not let it be known as drug related everytime, it's not, they need to figure out what's going on" said Virkesha Wright, family of victim.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call crime stoppers at 433-STOP.
