FOLLOW-UP: Bullying victim's grandmother works to create 'Rebecca's Law'
LAKELAND -- And now a follow up on a tragic bullying case.
A Florida grandmother is working to strengthen anti-bullying laws, after her granddaughter committed suicide.
12-year-old Rebecca Sedwick jumped off a tower in Lakeland last month.
14-year-old Guadeloupe Shaw and 12-year old Katelyn Roman are accused of bullying Sedwick literally to death.
Sedwick's grandmother, Pat Jones, has started an on-line petition to create "Rebecca's Law."
The law would give schools and officials more authority to punish bullies.
Pat - I want it enforced to where this doesn't happen again. I want the first notice of any kind of bullying or abuse or anything to be acted on immediately"
Jone's only needs a couple hundred more signatures to reach her goal of at least a thousand.
