Fmr. Fla. commissioner allegedly sells fake bulletproof vests
Some bullet proof vests sold by a former Florida commissioner - won't work.
The former commissioner and two others are accused of selling phony bulletproof vests. This is some of the body armor taken from former OCOEE Commissioner Scott Anderson's business.
Investigators say Anderson has been working with Scott Williams and Arami Rodriguez for the past two years. They are accused of selling these fake bullet proof vests on eBay and at gun shows throughout the southeast. Anderson served as commissioner for 12 years until 2009 for OCOEE.
"It's very disturbing that an individual that was in some version of a public service agency would do such a thing."
The vests would go for about $600 to $900 each. They are charged with fraud and counterfeiting. The men could face up to ten years behind bars.
