Locals speak out on upcoming storm

PENSACOLA BEACH -- Some people are airing on the side of caution. They have their ply boards ready. The storm shutters are drawn on some homes here at Pensacola Beach, but most homeowners say they're not expecting devastating weather conditions and that is why they aren't boarding up or putting out sand bags. However, homeowners say that doesn't mean they aren't taking other preventive measures.
Tourist Tom Voinche said, We were planning on staying until Saturday but using caution we decided to leave sometime this morning.
Resident Rusty Finley said, I got my generator all gassed up and ready to go but I think it's just going to be a rain event. We may get some outer bands and that's about it.
Business Owner Mike Pinzone said, We expect the waves to come up. We think a lot of people are going to want to come up and see it. We will let them do that as long as everything is safe and there's no reason for them not to come out.
Even if you think the storm is not going to be that bad, it is still a good idea to make sure you have plenty of water, food, necessary medications and flash lights.
