The "Haven of Our Lady of Peace" nursing home opens a new rehabilitation wing
A new rehabilitation wing is open at the "Haven of Our Lady of Peace" nursing home in Pensacola.
It gives residential and short term patients a lot more space for physical therapy.
They have a functioning kitchen and living area, where patients can relearn how to perform day to day activities.
That's especially important for people who've never used a walker or wheelchair before.
Martha Perez, the administrator, says, "This helps them retrain on how to utilize those devices while fixing their meals, going to bed, showering and taking care of themselves at home."
Before the expansion, they had one 850sq. ft. room for therapy.
The new wing is nearly five times that size.
