Catholic vs West Florida
The big thing people were talking about last night was the game between Catholic and West Florida.
It was round two for the two schools. They went to overtime and Catholic ended up on top.
But it was a heated game. Channel Three's Jenise Fernandez has reaction from fans.
You can't get inside this stadium without a ticket, but it's a full house tonight. There are more than 3-thousand people in the stands.
The pressure is on for both teams, but it's also very nerve-wracking for the parents.
It's not easy sitting back and watching your kid play in the biggest game of the season. But that's exactly what Nelson Hale and Tyrone Bryant have to do.
And in this scenario, we have two fathers who are friends, their sons best friends, playing on opposite teams.
"Before and after the game, we don't trash talk. We take care of that on the field."
Hale's son plays for Catholic. He says, his son is always calm before the game. A bit of a different story for dad.
"I haven't been able to sleep for three days. It's an important game for us."
Bryant's son plays for West Florida. Watching his son play brings back memories from his glory days.
"I get goosebumps... And play ball."
"The atmosphere is outstanding. Outstanding!"
The stadium was roaring with cheers, the fans pumped up. But a sold out game means some people were left behind. People had to watch from behind the fences or on top of their cars.
Even the smallest fans were turned away.
Tyrin Morer said, "I mean they could have still sold tickets... I don't know if they can do that."
The score ended up being Catholic 26....West Florida 20.
