New jobs opening up in the medical field for Veterans

Some local Veterans are getting training for new careers in the medical field.
The Retina Specialty Institute in Pensacola is offering training to Veterans.
They previously hired two Veterans and were so happy with their performance, they hired two more.
The Vets are trained and eventually become certified Ophthalmic Technicians.
Workforce Escarosa is supporting the program by paying half their salary during training.

Alonzo Simon, Ophthalmic Technician says, "It's very, very good for the Veterans. Sometimes we get out of the military and it's hard to find work right away."
Dr. Sunil gupta, Retina Specialty Institute says, "If we can do it, everybody else wants to do it. I'm very very excited about this program."

The Retina Institute hopes to continue the program as the practice expands.
