Cyclist treks across America for firefighters

A Utah man is making his way to the Florida Panhandle on his bike to raise money for a charity.

Robert Quick already made a stop in Bayou La Batre as he makes his way to Saint Augustine, Florida. His trip is remarkable given his condition. Quick has heart stints and a pacemaker.

He is raising money for firefighters because in 2004 he suffered a massive heart attack and was saved by rescue workers from a fire department. He is staying at fire stations across the country on his trip. Along the way he has collected many signatures.

"That's why they mean so much to me.  They worked on me hard and never gave up," Quick said.

Quick says so far he's traveled nearly 2,500 miles and  he has more than 600 to go. He hopes to finish by Thanksgiving.
