Tips for safely cooking turkey

A few tips to make sure your turkey gets cooked properly. Remember that the danger zone is between 40 and 140 degrees.

So when you thaw your turkey, do it in the refrigerator, not on the counter at room temperature.

Set your oven temperature to at least 325 and use an internal thermometer to make sure the bird gets cooked to at least 165 degrees.

And don't leave leftovers sitting out all day. Get them wrapped up and in the fridge within two hours.
