New England compound investigation

More than a year after a meningitis outbreak sickened hundreds of Americans, two states are working together to make sure it doesn't happen again.
Patients in 20 states were injected with a tainted steroid that caused infections including fungal meningitis.

Grand juries in Massachusetts and Michigan have been investigating the New England compounding center for more than a year..
The hope is now that those shared resources can get help to the victims and their families.

"This unique agreement between the Federal Government and the State of Michigan allows us to share evidence and share investigative resources. And this will help us reach our mutual goal to secure justice for victims of fungal meningitis."

The New England compounding center gave up their license and filed for bankruptcy.
So far, no criminal charges have been filed.
