Federal budget cuts forces residents to find new ways to heat their homes

About 300-thousand households will be scrambling to find ways to heat their homes this Winter because of forced Federal budget cuts.

This is the second year the so-called sequester will hit the low income home energy assistance program.
The program pays the tab to heat and cool homes for the nation's poorest.

This year, under deep Government spending cuts, the program will deliver 3.1 billion dollars in heating help.
That's down from a high of  5 billion during the recession, which went to 8 million households.
