Holiday storm causing havoc for travelers
(ABC) --The winter storm is making it difficult for people trying to get home for Thanksgiving.
Snow and ice are coating the roads from the midwest into the northeast making driving a dangerous task.
Strong winds, rain and sleet are causing thousands of flights to be canceled or delayed.
Mother nature making a mess of one the busiest travel days of the year
20 states across the east coast and parts of the south - in the path of this untimely storm that's causing delays -

The snow slowed everything down so we've been in a panic!
That pre-turkey day panic also extending to the rails.
"I just missed my connection to Albany and I'm hyperventilating."
But AAA says - more than 90 percent of travelers today- are *driving. And they - have their own problems
With as much as 7 inches of snow expected in some parts of the northeast. Some of the roads already snow-covered and icy: Causing hundreds of accidents
including one - in Pennsylvania that sent more than a dozen students to the hospital.
In Florida - and North Carolina - instead of heading out - some people are stuck staying behind-cleaning up after suspected tornadoes tore through -
"The neighbor's roof and his chimney was in our backyard"
And - the wind is expected to pick up throughout the day in the northeast -threatening to ground the balloons for tomorrow's Thanksgiving Day Parade -
But *today- people will be giving thanks when this trying travel day is over.
Oh so true- especially later today when the temperatures drop, threatening to freeze some roads, which creates the potential for more accidents, and
