  • Victims identified in Baldwin County plane crash

    Two bodies have been found in the wreckage of a plane crash in Baldwin County, AL. They are identified as 67 year old Dean Legidakes and 15 year old Marli McManus.

UPDATE: Hostage standoff ends with no injuries

ESCAMBIA COUNTY   --  An Escambia County man is in custody after a hostage situation and SWAT standoff over night.

Deputies responded to Champion Oaks Drive around 11 pm in reference to a suicide threat.

When they got there Garren Smith told them he had a handgun held to his girlfriends head.
SWAT was brought in when he refused to come out of the house.
   
Negotiations between Smith and the hostage negotiation team lasted several hours until Smith and the victim walked out the front door.
   
Smith was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Escambia County Jail.
   
He is charged with aggravated assault and false imprisonment.
