BERTHA QUICKLY HEADING WEST-NORTHWEST

Tropical Storm Bertha formed over the Atlantic Thursday night and is heading west-northwest.  It has winds of 45 miles per hour and is not forecast to become a hurricane. The storm is not forecast to move into the Gulf of Mexico.

Federal judge weighs in on BP claims


A federal judge says BP cannot hold up paying oil spill-related claims where business losses can't be directly linked to the spill.

US District Judge Carl Barbier said in his ruling that a "claim by claim" analysis would bring the process to a virtual standstill.

BP has argued that Judge Barbier and court appointed claims administrator Patrick Juneau are misinterpreting the terms of the settlement agreement.

The company says it could cost them billions in bogus or inflated claims by businesses.
