Police now accept digital proof of car insurance

Drivers who get pulled over by police will now be able to pull out their smart phones to show proof of insurance.
This was already a law but - it didn't match the rules of the Florida Department of Highway Safety. Tuesday Governor Rick Scott agreed the department could change its rules. This process will make it more efficient for officers.. who'll be able to pull up all the information they need in a matter of seconds.

Although having your insurance electronically could make things easier. Some people say they still prefer the old-fashioned way.

This change should be finalized in January. Those paper copies will still be accepted too. Florida the 27th state to allow drivers to carry proof of insurance on their phones.
