Firefighters lose home in a fire

They are usually the first to arrive on a scene of a fire, now they are the victims.
Two Escambia County paramedics have to find a new place to live after fire destroyed their home.

Firefighters were called to the house on Rosalyn way around 9 o'clock last night.
When crews arrived, there was heavy smoke coming from the back of the house near the kitchen.

Neighbors say the house that burned down was under renovation.
The EMS paramedics who lived there hadn't fully moved in yet.
They were on duty when the fire started.

Richard Owens, a neighbor, said "I've seen the flames and they were up there about 12 to 14 feet high."

The home is a total loss. No word what caused the fire.
