Two men wounded in Pensacola shooting

A shooting that wounded two men in Pensacola is under investigation.
Police say it happened around 10:45 last night at the Chapins Landing Apartments on the 700 block of Underwood Avenue.

When officers got here they say they found an 18 year-old man with a gunshot wound near his left elbow and another man who'd been shot in his rear-end.

The 18 year-old told officers he was randomly shot while walking through the complex.
Kenneth Dosier, Neighbor: "I saw a whole lot of police lights parked over in this Jehovah's Witness Hall."

Kenneth Dosier was returning home after grabbing a bite to eat, when he saw several officers near his apartment building.

"I saw a couple a more black and whites pass by. I seen a couple city boys back there with the lights flashin' and everything."

Dosier and others who live at the complex were surprised to hear about the shooting.
Kenneth Talton, Neighbor: "I'm really speechless right now. It's pretty shocking that it happened here."

Kenneth Dosier, Neighbor: "Mostly a lot of people here are college students, you know you got some who go to PJC, I mean, PSC."

Chris Billups, Neighbor: "It's normally peaceful. People just leave, they go to work and then you don't see them again until the evening time when they get back from work."

Residents say the management company has done a lot to clean up the area.

Kenneth Talton, Neighbor: "We have new owners so they've pretty much been fixing, fixing all the complexes."

Both shooting victims were hospitalized.
Their names and conditions have not yet been released.

Kenneth Dosier, Neighbor: "I'm not too worried about it."
Reporter Joe Douglass: "Why not?"
Kenneth Dosier, Neighbor: "Uh, really, it's nothing to be worried about. I don't really feel like nobody's coming after me so whoever got shot somebody obviously had to be coming for 'em."

A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
Police say it may have been drug-related.
