Judge rules William Brandon Aydelott be tried as an adult

William Brandon Aydelott is going to be tried as an adult.

A judge made it official this afternoon in juvenile court at the Santa Rosa County Courthouse, granting a request from the State Attorney's Office.

He's charged right now with second degree murder.

Today was a procedural hearing to make Aydelott aware he's going to be tried as an adult and moved into the adult criminal justice system.

As previously noted, the State Attorney's Office is going to ask a grand jury to indict Aydelott on a charge of premeditated first degree murder.

Aydelott is due back in adult court for a first appearance tomorrow. He's being transferred from juvenile facilities to the Santa Rosa County Jail.

A judge will rule tomorrow on whether to grand bail or to keep him in custody without bail.
