BERTHA QUICKLY HEADING WEST-NORTHWEST

Tropical Storm Bertha formed over the Atlantic Thursday night and is heading west-northwest.  It has winds of 45 miles per hour and is not forecast to become a hurricane. The storm is not forecast to move into the Gulf of Mexico.

Polar bear plunge returns on New Years Day


After the New Years Eve celebrations-- some people will start their New Year with a chilly dip.

Here's a look at last year's polar bear plunge on Pensacola Beach. This year's annual plunge will be behind Paradise Bar & Grill at 2 p.m. New Years Day.

A lot of people even dress up for the occasion --  braving the chilly waters of Santa Rosa Sound. Afterwards you can enjoy black-eyed peas, cornbread and new year's day football games.
