UPDATE: Ospreys attacked in Sudan

New information, about the evacuation mission in South Sudan Saturday that left US troops wounded.

Four US troops were wounded, one seriously.
They were flying in CV- 22 Ospreys from Hurlburt Field's 8Th Special Operations Squadron.
All three aircraft were being used to evacuate American citizens out of the war-torn city of Bor.
The aircraft were hit by enemy fire and sustained damage.
They were able to fly with the wounded 500 miles from South Sudan to a safe landing zone in Uganda.
One of the troops was rushed into surgery.
Their condition is not known at this time.

"It's always a very tenuous situation when you are flying into a relatively unknown, very hostile environment. The rebels probably have former Soviet Union-type weaponry, those AK-47s are out there."

It is not clear who fired, but US officials believe the American troops were deliberately targeted.
