Carnival Cruise aware of risk of fire on the Triumph
According to new documents, Carnival knew about the risk of fire before the ill-fated voyage of the Carnival Triumph.
The triumph set sail from Galveston last February.
A fire crippled the ship in the gulf on February 10th.
Passengers endured days on the ship without power and unsanitary living conditions.
The ship was eventually towed to Mobile for repairs.
Documents filed in federal court in Miami Monday show Carnival knew about the risk of leaks from engine fuel hoses and the recommended precautions.
Carnival says that the ship's engines passed inspection and its own recommendation the documents highlight were beyond any required safety measures.
