Princeton students receive first dose of Meningitus vaccine

PRINCETON  --  Students at Princeton are getting their first doses of an otherwise unapproved vaccine to fight meningitis.

Since March, the university has reported 8 cases of Meningitis-B.
In response to the outbreak--- the FDA gave Princeton special approval to distribute this vaccine to students.

It is used in Europe and Australia  but it does not have approval for use in the US.

The school will provide a second dose in February.
