"Taste of Judaism" event kicks off Torah project

The B'nai Israel Synagogue is beginning a special, year-long project.
A skilled scribe is handwriting a new Torah for the Temple.

B'nai Israel was founded more than one hundred years ago and the newest Torah they have is eighty years old.
Scribing a new one is an important tradition in the Jewish faith and they're inviting community members to take part.

They're kicking off the Torah project with a "Taste of Judaism" event.

It's tomorrow from four to seven at the Synagogue on Ninth Avenue.
It's free and open to everyone.
