Top ranked commander relieved of duty at Hurlburt Airfield
HURLBURT FIELD -- A top ranking military leader at Hurlburt Field has been relieved from his command.
Brigadier General Jon Weeks was relieved from command of the Air Force Special Operations Air Warfare Center today.
A press release from the Air Force this afternoon says it was due to a loss of trust and confidence in his leadership.
The move comes after an investigation by the Inspector General into an alleged inappropriate personal relationship involving Weeks.
Colonel Royce Lott, Vice Commander for Special Ops Air Warfare Center, is now the interim commander.
Pending the results of the investigation, Weeks is temporarily assigned to another position.
