Escambia County School District new fingerprinting system

ESCAMBIA COUNTY  --  The Escambia County School District has a new fingerprinting system.
Allowing future employees to get through the background checking process faster.

"If you were looking to become an employee of the Escambia County School District this use to be the primary location to get you fingerprints taken now a new system is making it more convenient."

The past few weeks anyone looking to become an employee of the district was stopped at the fingerprinting process.

That's because the district was changing systems and hired outside company morpho .

The idea was to make the process run smoother and also offer 3- new locations across the county and one in Pace.

But the system had technical difficulties which stopped the background check process...
And put many in limbo causing  a finincial strain to their pockets.

"f you add all the days I haven't been able to do it adds up to $720."
The system is now up and running..
And will cut down on time for background checks, what use to take two to three days, can now take a few hours.

Malcolm Thomas  "We've run a couple of test this week we had someone printed and within about three hours we already had communication back from fdle."

School leaders and applicants will now also be able to track the process online.
"It allows our principals to be able to see people that they are processing and trying to get hired. In the past the way it worked you'd have to make phone calls and you had to get someone on the phone before you knew that person was cleared."

Many people are just glad they can now finish the hiring process.
"It's been a long road and all of these problems and difficulties that this company has had but in the end it will work better."
