'La Costa Latina' turns out last issue of paper

The only local bilingual newspaper in Northwest Florida will no longer be in circulation. 'La Costa Latina' has been around for  more than  seven years and
The last issue was distributed on Friday.

Here it is. the last issue. and the headline says it all. It's the end of the newspaper and the Hispanic Resource Center located on North Pensacola Blvd.

The semi-monthly bilingual publication had a distribution of 10 thousand copies. The paper could be found in more than 150 locations in North
West Florida, and South Alabama. Latino Media Gulf Coast, Incorporated, which is the company that owns the paper also hosts the Hispanic Resource Center. That center's doors will also be closed starting January 31st.

The owner of Latino Media Gulf Coast, Grace Resendez McCaffery says it was a difficult decision to shut down her business but she had to do it in order to chase her dreams and give her self the chance to further grow in her career.

"My hope is that this community continues to grow. Not just between spanish speakers but between people of all nationalities."
"I am very grateful for all the support I've received over the years from this community with the newspaper, the center and my career. I am very proud of this community and I love you all."

At this time no one has stepped up to take over the business. Final editions of this newspaper can be found your favorite Mexican restaurant or Latino store.
