Pensacola City Council revisits airport concessions contract
PENSACOLA -- The Pensacola City Council will revisit the concessions contract for the Pensacola Airport at tonight's council meeting.
The ten-year, multi-million- dollar deal has been held up since September.
A proposal from Missouri-based OHM Foods beat out the competition in a close call with the city council.
OHM would invest 1.8 million dollars to bring national franchises like Chick-Fil-A and Einstein Brothers Bagels to the airport...
And they would guarantee the city a minimum annual fee of almost four-hundred- thousand dollars.
Mayor Ashton Hayward wants to see a decision made this week.
"We bid it out. We had a committee to really look at it. We went above and beyond to make sure the process was flawless. We strongly believe it was. You know OHM was awarded the bid, and I think it's important that the council approves it and we move on down the road."
The current contract for airport concessions runs out in March.
