NAS Pensacola celebrates 100 years

Happening today NAS Pensacola is celebrating its 100th anniversary.

They're kicking off the festivities by naming a building after the Navy's first official photographer. Walter Richardson was a cook in the navy in 1914 but his hobby was photography.
When base leaders saw his photos they realized they'd be a valuable tool for aviators. Building 1,500 served as the Navy's photography school for nearly 50 years and it's now the base headquarters.

The dedication ceremony will be at 11 a.m. today and it is open to the public.
