Santa Rosa creek oil spill update
We have an update to the oil spill in a Santa Rosa Creek earlier this month.
The Florida Department of Health says there does not seem to be any lasting effects to the Escambia river.
On January 9th, about 3 barrels of crude oil spilled into the Creek from Quantum's Resource Management's Processing facility near Jay.
That Creek feeds into the Escambia river.
Crews had most of the oil cleaned up by the end of that day.
A spokesperson for the Florida Department of Health in Escambia County says the oil spill was not a public health emergency and there was no danger from fish caught in the river.
