Former Director of Administration for SRIA sentenced on grand theft
The former Director of Administration for the Santa Rosa Island Authority will spend almost a year in jail for grand theft.
Russell Scarritt has pleaded no contest to the charge and was sentenced to 11 and a half months in the Escambia County Jail.
He was accused of stealing more than 18,000 dollars worth of coins from a vault at Pensacola Coin and Bullion, a business where he once worked.
He must also spend four years on probation, and reimburse the business for their loss.
Scarritt was fired from the SRIA after his arrest last July.
