Crestview police investigating shooting

Crestview police are investigating after an 18-year-old was shot last night.

Officers were called to North Okaloosa Medical Center about a man shot in the leg.

PPD was told the shooter was an unknown person and it happened in the area of Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard and Grimes Avenue.
They responded to the scene and  interviewed the victim , 18-year-old Carlos Matus, after he was taken to Sacred Heart hospital in Pensacola.

Investigators say Matus was with two other juvenile males and one of them was "looking" at a pistol when it accidentally fired.
The juveniles took Matus to the hospital where they made up the story of an unknown shooter.

One of the juveniles was arrested on an unrelated, outstanding order to take into custody.
