Trial to begin in April for suspect accused of rape and murder

ESCAMBIA COUNTY   --  The trial of a man accused of raping and killing a Pensacola woman three years ago is now scheduled to begin in April.

Jaime Broxson and another woman were found dead in November 2010 near a Gulf Power substation on Jernigan Road.
Joshua Douglas was charged in Broxson's death.
The State Attorney says it's taking so long to get to trial largely because of a change in the Public Defender representing Douglas.
A hearing was held today to make sure that both prosecutors and the defense team are ready for the trial to begin on April 7th.
