UPDATE: West Virginia chemical spill

We are getting more information on a chemical leak in West Virginia that contaminated water supplies for 300 thousand people.

Today (Saturday) West Virginia's Governor ordered the company responsible to remove all of its above-ground chemical tanks from the river site where the leak occurred.

Freedom industries has until March 15th to start the "dismantling, removing and properly disposing" the 17 tanks.

Officials say more than seven thousand gallons of a chemical used to process coal leaked into the Elk river on January 9th.

Three tanks that contained the same chemical have already been emptied.

Shortly after the spill, freedom industries filed for bankruptcy.

The leak is still being investigated.
