VIEWER REQUEST: Oak trees being cut down to make way for wider roads

MCDAVID  --  In the north end of Escambia County, near McDavid, the county is cutting down old oak trees.
A viewer who lives in the area asked Channel 3 to check it out.
The trees were alongside Enon School Road.
A county spokesman says, they're widening the road so they can pave it.
The trees are in the county's right-of- way.
The other side of the road doesn't have trees but the county has no right of way there.
The property line goes right up to the road.
County leaders say it would delay the project too long to try to get permission to put the road there.
