Gun rights group sues UF
A gun rights group is suing the University of Florida over a gun ban.
They are fighting against a ban on guns in campus housing.
The lawsuit comes after a similar suit against the University of North Florida's ban on guns in cars.
In early December, the 1st District Court of Appeals sided with a UNF student and gun rights group that challenged a rule banning students from storing guns in their cars.
UF officials say they had been in talks with the non profit group, Florida carry this week and were stunned by the lawsuit.
UF says they had taken steps to comply with the court's decision; and that Florida carry had never raised the issue of guns in the home, which was not the subject of the court's decision.
