No charges filed in dog's death from last August

ESCAMBIA COUNTY   --  The Escambia County deputies who shot two dogs after entering a home without a search warrant will *not face criminal charges.

On August 4th deputies Mikel Lee and Romain Brissett climbed through an open window at a home on Flynn Drive searching for a suspect.

Lee says he shot the dogs because one of them tried to bite him.
One of the dogs survived, but the other had to be euthanized.

The suspect in the armed disturbance was not found inside the home.
The State Attorney's office reviewed the case and say there was insufficient evidence to establish that there was an intent to commit any crime.

The criminal investigation by the State Attorneys Office is completed but internal investigation is still ongoing

The officers could still face reprimand from within the sheriffs office.
