Local Home Depot stores start mass hiring for Spring

Home Depot says that it has started to fill more than 80,000 positions across the country as it preps for spring-- its busiest season of the year.

Channel 3's Kalie Desimone joins us  this morning with more on how many people were hired here locally.

Spring is the peak hiring season for the home improvement giant. In this district which includes Northwest Florida and a small area of Alabama, Home Depot stores hired more than 150 new employees.

The store located on Mobile Highway used Workforce Escarosa to find people who were qualified for open positions.

"It's good to give people opportunities," said Jason Wood, assistant store manager. "At the end of the day, it's a good feeling to know you are helping people out on both sides of the coin."

Jason wood is assistant store manager at the Home Depot on Mobile Highway. He says he's excited to bring on new team members who are passionate about customer service. The store has filled most of its need positions but says some positions do become available on a regular basis.
