William Cormier takes the stand in own defense

PENSACOLA   --  The man accused of killing a former Pensacola News Journal reporter took the stand in his own defense today.

William Cormier the III is charged with first degree murder and robbery in the death of Sean Dugas in 2012.
His body was found buried in a plastic container behind William's father's house in Georgia.
Today, prosecutors told jurors that William bought a container, air fresheners and a tarp the night Sean Dugas went missing.
William says his brother, Christopher Cormier, told him to make those purchases.
William also says that he doesn't know whether Christopher had anything to do with Dugas' death.
Christopher Cormier pleaded no contest to the charges against him.
The trial has wrapped up for the day.
It will resume tomorrow morning with closing arguments.
