Academy award winning composer joining Pensacola Symphony this weekend

PENSACOLA  --  Academy Award-Winning Composer Bill Conti Is joining the Pensacola Symphony this weekend.... for a concert of his own music.

Conti composed the soundtracks for dozens of movies and t-v- shows....
His theme for "Rocky" is an audio cue for triumph over adversity.
Back in 1976, he had no idea what it would become.

"Well, that's a big deal if you can write a piece of music that moves somebody so I'm honored and feel lucky that that has happened."

Conti says music is all about the emotions and he draws on his own experiences when he's composing.

"Some things have happened to me. I've never been in a helicopter chase, but I know the excitement of the moment, so all I have to do is translate that into music and that is supposedly what I know how to do."
