Weekend Schedule of Events


The sound of Zydeco and the smell of gumbo will fill the air tomorrow in Sandestin.

The Sandestin Gumbo Festival is celebrating its twenty-fifth year of spicy fun.
Restaurants from all over the Emerald Coast will cook up their version of the classic dish.

You can taste them all, and vote for your favorite to win the coveted "People's Choice Award".

The festival runs from noon til four at the Village of BayTowne Wharf.
Tickets are twenty-five dollars at the gate.
Come early, because it's been known to sell out!

You can tour historic replicas of the Nina and the Pinta this weekend.

The ships are docked at Legendary Marine in Fort Walton Beach.
Tickets are six to eight dollars a person.

And remember.. you can explore the Gulf Islands National Seashore for free this weekend!

Fees are being waived tomorrow, Sunday and Monday  in honor of "Presidents Day."
The "fee free" days do not include camping.
If you want to camp it will cost you 26-dollars a night.


There is a dog show going on at the Escambia County Equestrian Center this weekend.

It's the "Five Flags Dog Training All-Breed Agility" show.
It's taking place Friday through Sunday from 8 am until 4-pm.
The competition shows the dog's ability to work with the handler over course jumps, tunnels, poles and more.
It costs three dollars per person to attend.

If you enjoy a bowl of gumbo Sandestin is the place to be this weekend.
The 25th Annual Gumbo Festival is going on tomorrow from noon to four at the village of Baytowne Wharf.
You can sample gumbo from nineteen area restaurants and enjoy live Zydeco music.
Tickets are 25-dollars at the gate.
