Ice Flyers visit Sacred Heart Children's Hospital

ESCAMBIA COUNTY   --  The Pensacola Ice Flyers hockey team took some time to cheer up some children today.

The team and staff delivered stuffed animals to patients at Sacred Heart Children's Hospital.

The animals were collected from fans during the team's "Teddy Bear Toss" night.
It's an annual event where fans are asked to bring stuffed animals to toss onto the ice after the Flyers' first goal.

The team says it's a way to give back to the community, that has given them so much over the years.

"We're normal people but seeing the jersey might bring joy to some of these kids who have seen games and what not."

You can catch the Ice Flyers at home this weekend.
They have a game Friday night against the Mississippi Surge.

Saturday night against the Huntsville Havoc.
And they take on the Louisiana Ice Gators on Sunday.
