Lawmakers use 'state report' to campaign against red light cams

Some Florida lawmakers are using a new state report to support their campaign against red light cameras.

The report says revenue from those traffic cams jumped by 81 million dollars over the last two years...

And opponents call that  a "back door tax increase."
Five counties and seventy-four cities, including Milton and Gulf Breeze operate red light cameras in Florida.

Overall, the number of fatal crashes at those intersections fell by half but the number of rear-end accidents rose.

A legislative committee will hear from the authors of the report later this week.
