UPDATE: Cormier trial for PNJ reporter's death

ESCAMBIA COUNTY  --  Witnesses took the stand today in the murder trial of a man accused of killing a former Pensacola News Journal reporter

William Cormier is charged with first degree murder and robbery in the death of Sean Dugas.
The victim's father, family and friends took the stand today.

The prosecutor says she plans to prove that Cormier killed Dugas for his collection of trading cards and then tried to cover up the crime.

She says store receipts show that Cormier bought a large plastic storage container, six air fresheners and a tarp a few hours after Dugas made his last confirmed phone call to a family friend.

Investigators say Dugas' body was found buried in a container behind Cormier's father's home in Georgia.

The trial has wrapped up for the day.
Witness testimony will continue tomorrow.
Cormier faces life in prison if convicted.
