HEALTH NEWS: Flu hitting younger to middle-aged adults hardest

This year's flu season is hitting younger and middle-aged adults unusually hard.

More than 60-percent of people hospitalized with influenza this year have been between the ages of 18 and 64 according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

That's up from 35-percent in previous years.
And more than half of flu deaths this season have occurred among people in that age range.

Health officials continue to encourage everyone who is at least six months old to get vaccinated.
